Hotel:
- I encourage splitting the cost between the boys and girls for a hotel room. This will allow for swimmers to relax between prelims & finals rather than staying in their car for 3-4 hours.
- oThey can rest, play games, watch tv.
- Athletes can also explore around the area, but cannot go explore the campus they can get kicked out for this.
- oTime management is key between prelims & finals.
- oYOU MUST KEEP YOUR CREDENTIALS. You lose them you don’t swim..
Heat Sheets
- -Heat sheets are free to download at GHSA Swim Landing Site and will be emailed to teams as well as on Meet Mobile. They will be posted a couple of days in advance of each session for each prelim session, and within a few hours of the end of prelims for finals. Limited numbers of copies will be on sale at the meet for $10 per session.
Food
- -The Booster Club and Coaches will provide snack bags that include healthy snacks, like nuts, fruit, yogurt, protein, water and Gatorade.
- -Athletes are able to bring anything else. But no large food storage. Athletes are responsible for cleaning up after themselves
Volunteering:
- A great way to watch your athlete compete is by volunteering. GHSA is still looking for volunteers this will allow you a free pass to watch the event. (State Meet Volunteer and Signup Link)
Information about the day’s events:
- Ready Area/Bullpen - There will NOT be a staging area for prelims. During finals we will stage the A finalists only. Teams are responsible for getting their athletes to the blocks during prelims and staging area during finals in a timely fashion.
- Relay Alternates- They will be allowed for this year's meet, but as was the case last year they will not be allowed deck access, unless they are "activated" to swim in the meet. They will have a designated seating area upstairs in the seating gallery. (we try and bypass this)
- Parking - We are still finalizing plans for this, but bottom line there is no free parking for anyone (including teams and coaches).
- Arrive Attired - Please encourage your athletes to wear their suits to the pool (under their clothes or warmups). We will have limited access to locker facilities during the meet.
- Safe Sport Compliance - In keeping in compliance with the CRC's policies the locker rooms located directly off the deck will be for athletes only. Coaches and other adults are not allowed to use those areas for any reason. Those individuals will need to use the restrooms located in the locker facilities located outside the hospitality room or the restrooms upstairs. Please share this info with your coaches and team staff.
- Due to capacity limits for the CRC teams are limited to a max of 5 coaches for the meet. We ask that teams try to limit the number of coaches who attend and who are on deck during competition.
- Credentials:
- oDO NOT LOSE THEM – they are your entry to the meet, the deck. If you lose it you don’t get to swim & you don’t get into the meet.
Photography opportunities
- As a reminder, River Oak still has reservation spaces available for each of our swimming sessions! Coaches, please pass this information along to your parents, so they can capture these memories, frame them and then relive the glory days of high school forever.
- For the 11th consecutive year, River Oak Photography is partnering with the GHSA to bring live action shots from the pool deck of your swimmers, home with you long after the trophies are handed out.
- Reservations are now live to sign up for action photos at the GHSA State Swimming and Diving Championships with River Oak Photography!
All questions will be answered Monday 2/5 at our Parent/Team meeting.
