1st Annual Swim-a-Thon

Our very first swim-a-thon will take place on January 15th & 16th. Attached are the flyers and pledge sheet that each swimmer will receive at practice tonight & tomorrow.

How it will work:

  1. Each swimmer will choose a day that they will swim. All swimmers should commit to 1 day. But are able to swim both.
    1. The days that they won't swim they will come to practice if they have a county cut and do a workout. (That list will be ready at the end of our regional weekend).
  2. Before they swim: Swimmers can go around and gather pledges from friends, family, family co-workers, teachers, etc. This can be done per lap or a lump sum.
    1. Per lap: Sponsors pay per lap that is swam. it can be as low as .01 or as much as they want per lap. (see Pledge Per Lap handout)
    2. Lump Sum: Sponsors pay a flat rate like $5, $10, $20, etc.
  3. During the swim: Swimmers come to their chosen day with snack, water, gatorade, and gear. They swim as many laps as they can during their hour.
    1. Breaks are allowed but should be monitored and kept short.
    2. Free, Breast, and Back, or crawl can be used. I do not recommend fly.
    3. A counter (of your choice - friend, family, etc) will check off each lap you complete. At the end of your hour we will count up laps, and record so you can go and gather your $$.
  4. After the swim: Swimmers will have until January 24th to turn in money raised. Money can be transferred to your swimmer in whatever way.
    1. Final Money is to be turned in by check or Team pay app to Coach G or Booster Members.
    2. Money raised should match what is on Pledge sheet.

Prizes: Prizes will be ordered when money is turned in and distributed by or on EOS banquet. There are a lot of amazing prizes per swimmer including registration for next year.

If you have any questions please let me know. This should be 100% participation by ALL swimmers/divers.

Money from this will go towards all our fees, EOS banquet, senior gifts, Fees for next year (as they rise), etc.
