Senior Night and County Updates!

Parents and Swimmers,

This Friday night's meet (Senior Night):

After speaking with the host school (Pope), they have allowed us to have our Senior Night Recognition during the dive break ( the 15 minute break after the 50s).  This is a great time because nothing else will be going on during that time. Pope is actually going to take his swimmers outside once the 50s are over, so our parents can come in.  The meet will start at approximately 7:10, so Senior parents should be there by 7:45 at the latest to ensure that we have everyone lined up and you don't miss it.  Remember, this meet only has 4 teams, and we will probably have the biggest team there.  The meet will run much quicker than normal. We also need 3 volunteer timers, so if anyone wants to actually be inside the CAC watching the meet, sign up on Swimtopia.

Updates to the County Meet (big changes):

First off , there are no changes at the moment to Diving on Thursday.

Because of the new county mandates (no spectators still), the county has decided to split the Friday Prelims into three separate sessions.  We are in Session #2 in the early afternoon on Friday.  Session #1 has warmups at 7:15 AM Friday morning! (At least we avoided that one!).  Our warmups are scheduled for 12:15 PM, and the meet will start at 1 PM. We are expected to provide 2 volunteer timers for Friday afternoon, so if you want to come watch the meet in person, sign up!

Coach Vernon (Walton) will be setting up live streaming of County Diving, Swim Prelims, and Swim Finals. Directions on how to access the live stream will be provided soon.

After speaking with the AD this morning, here is our plan for Friday, January 21.  We will release the kids from class at 10:45.  We will meet in the cafeteria where the cafeteria manager will have a sack lunch for every swimmer (free of charge) with a wrap, chips, fruit, etc in it.  We will eat lunch in the cafeteria, and then we will get on the SWIM BUS at 11:15.  The bus will take all the swimmers to Mountain View, and we should get there approximately 11:45.  That will give us time to change and be ready to warm up at 12:15.  The bus will not be able to bring us home, so you will need to either pick your swimmer up at Mountain View at the end of the meet (approximately 4 PM), or arrange for them to have a ride.

Juniors/Seniors who drive their own car to school may drive themselves to MVAC, but they will NOT be allowed to let anyone else ride with them to the pool.

The top 30 times overall in each event (from all 3 sessions combined!) will return for Finals on Saturday.  I will get a list Friday night of all 30 finalists for each event after Session # 3 has ended.  It will be late (starts at 6 PM).

Finals on Saturday will be split into 2 sessions:
Boys:  Warmups 12 PM.  Start time 2:15 PM

Girls: Warmup 4:30 PM.  Start time 6:30 PM

**Volunteer needs, per school, will be determined after Session #3 of Prelims**

JV Championships

This is the meet for the swimmers who don't qualify for County and don't swim at Friday's Prelims.  This will take place Saturday morning @ Mountain View Aquatic Center (this is a change from Monday's info).

Warmups: 8 AM

Start Time: 9 AM

**Volunteers will be determined based on the number of swimmers from each school**

If there are any more changes, I will let you know.  Hopefully this is the end of the major changes.

Thanks,

Coach Sansing
