Results from the last meet (11-19)
Parents,
I intended to send out this summary earlier this week, but like everything else right now, it got caught up in the whirlwind. The last meet may have been our best team meet of the season. There were 8 schools competing at the meet, and we finished 2nd in the girls with 399 points, 2nd in the boys with 361 points, and 2nd overall with a combined 760 points. I'm attaching the complete North Cobb results so you can see everything.
Bentley Huff led the boys with two first place finishes, in the 100 fly and the 500 free. He qualified for State in the 500 free with a time of 5:07.53. Jeanette Liem led the girls with a first place finish in the breaststroke. The A Medley relay teams both finished in 2nd place overall. The A 200 Free Relays finished 3rd in the boys, and 4th in the girls with Jeanette qualifying for state in the leadoff leg of the relay with a time of 26.47. The A 400 Girls Relay team finished in 4th overall.
We had several other top 6 finishes, including Jonathan Borden (5th in 200 Free and 3rd in 500 Free), Carter Sams (6th in 200 IM), Jeanette Liem (2nd place in 200 IM), Cecile Davila (5th in 100 Fly), Margo Griffin (4th in 500 Free), Emma Talis (6th in 500 Free), Kale Mullins (2nd in 100 Back), Aiden Harpe (5th in 100 Back), Annabel Steinle (6th in 100 Back), and Jamie Hockey (2nd in 100 Breast).
Overall, the entire team - each swimmer- has been dropping time and getting better each meet. If you think of the season being split up into thirds (October/November, December, and then January), we are entering the second third of the season now. We still have 2/3 of the season to go, and a lot of improvement still to come.
I'm excited about tomorrow, because even though we have a few swimmers out, this will give several swimmers the chance to swim in higher relays, and earn points in events they haven't had the chance yet.
Thanks,
Coach Sansing
